While my area of expertise is not in punk music I do know good music when I hear it. I am one of the many lucky individuals who got to experience The Springfields raw, emotional, powerful music. I asked the boys in The Springfields a few questions and in pure punk form they answered me in a very frank way.
r1ch: How would you classify the music you make?
The Springfields: Punk fuckin' rock.
r1ch: When did you guys form?
The Springfields: 1996
r1ch: What was the first show The Springfields played?
The Springfields: Some shitty rec hall in a bum fuck part of Baltimore, but it was with Spike Wrench (R.I.P.).

r1ch: How often are you playing out?
The Springfields: Two to three times per month, we've cut back on playing Baltimore as much these days.
r1ch: If you could pick one place to play in the Baltimore / DC area where would it be?
Cameron Springfield: 9:30 Club
Chad Springfield: The Sidebar, the best bar in fuckin Baltimore!
Curt Springfield: Nation
r1ch: Could each of you tell me about yourselves?
Cameron Springfield: I'm a sexy bitch!
Chad Springfield: Go fuck yourself, and I am God!
Curt Springfield: I'm not that much of a dork...
r1ch: What kind of role does your website play with your music?
The Springfields: Not much of one at all: just bad pictures of us. Our website can't get you drunk enough to make us sound good.

r1ch: What are your thoughts on the music that the radio is playing now?
Chad Springfield: I fucking hate it: watered down garbage that is ripping off kids by making them think that Avril Lavigne is punk rock, and making kids think that punk is nothing more than a thirty year old guy singing about high school and crying about his vagina, and heavy music isn’t supposed to have a groove to it: if you have a DJ, do you suck. And Good Charlotte can suck my ass.
Cameron Springfield: It's not all bad, just mostly. Good Charlotte can suck my ass too, only after SR 71 is finished licking it.
Curt Springfield: It could be worse, some bands are still keepin' it real, and lookin' out.
r1ch: What about the mainstream?
Chad Springfield: I think we covered it, but do everything you can to help destroy the music industry: download and burn mp3s, fuck the major labels; they rip me and you off.
r1ch: when and where is your next show? [now passed]
The Springfields: Our next two shows are as follows: Feb. 22nd at The Sidebar with Dave Smally (ex-Dag Nasty, Down By Law et al) and National Razor, and March 5th at The Ottobar with the Voodoo Glow Skulls, Roger Merit [from Agnostic Front] and the Disasters.
