Illdisposed

Illdisposed are one of RoadRunner Records latest signings, they are also one of Denmark's most inovative metal bands. Previously Illdisposed were best known for their 1997 album 'There's something rotten...in the state of Denmark' but in October '1-800-Vindication' will be released and is tipped to make a significant impact.

Not least because the inevitably cult horror movie 'Saw' features on of their tracks, 'Dark', on the soundtrack - not that RoadRunner told the band this before I mentioned it in passing to vocalist Bo Summer, who replied "Where did you hear about that Saw soundtrack? I haven't heard anything about it myself..." Only to come back the next day and state with some amusement "You're right, it's the German office (RoadRunner) who've booked us in for that cd...without telling us of course."

1-800-vindication

RoadRunner like their bands to promote as much as possible in a short space of time, which is how vocalist Summer and Jacob ended up promoting the new album in Amsterdam and then then went off to Cologne, Germany to do an immense number of interviews. Whilst they were there they managed to run up a truly impressive 666 Euro minibar bill. Which please RoadRunner no end, but seems only fair given the lack of media promotion so far for 'Vindication.'

Having said this RoadRunner did create a buzz about the album by putting a track up for free download, the catch bieng that the band would have chosen 'Still sane' as oppose to 'Dark', but nevermind.

Summer is exceedingly good at avoiding giving straight answers, for example in reply to the question 'who do you prefer out of Skid Row or Teamat?' Summer volunteers that "I'm totally into Depeche Mode, and always have been...so there you go, I'm not really qualified to recommend anything as I am a poser really."

This is probably another example of Illdisposed's healthy sense of humour, something which is shown vividly by the fact that Summer found the name Jeff amusing enough to write a song for the new album entitled 'Jeff' starting with a quote from 'Waynes world 2.'

Illdisposed were meant to be coming to the UK as part of an European tour with Death Angel, however problems with a certain deadbeat promotion agency have ensured that Illdisposed won't be around until January 2005, but they are definitely worth the wait and Summer might even pay a visit to his family roots on Bristol.
